Publications from Other Sources
This free open-access online bibliographic database is hosted by the Museum of Northern Arizona. Created and maintained by ARARA Past-President Leigh Marymor, this invaluable resource now contains over 35,000 citations to the world's rock art literature. Searches can be by Author, Title, Place keyword, Subject keyword, and ISBN number.
The Rock-Art Discussion List
An online rock art discussion list hosted by Arizona State University encourages individual participation. This list is independent of ARARA. You can subscribe to the rock-art list at the ROCK-ART List subscription link.
Once you have subscribed, log in at http://lists.asu.edu/archives/rock-art.html to view current topics and the archive of past discussions.
The Rock Art Papers publicaton series beginning with Volume 18 in 2016 and the annual San Diego Rock Art Symposium have been taken over by the San Diego Rock Art Association. Past volumes of Rock Art Papers published by the San Diego Museum of Man are no longer available from the Museum, which has discontinued its publication program. Out-of-print volumes may be obtained from Piedra Pintada Books and other online retailers.
Papers presented at annual URARA conferences are available for free download on the URARA website.
Journal of IFRAO, the International Federation of Rock Art Organizations.
International Newsletter On Rock Art edited by Jean Clottes. Issues of INORA from No. 1 (1992) through No. 70 (2014) are available for free download on the ICOMOS Documentation website. The INORA page on the Bradshaw Foundation website has a few issues but is not maintained and is not a viable source for the newsletter. Readers in the U.S. can subscribe through ARARA by sending a check for the $25 annual fee, made out to "ARARA," to Donna Gillette, 11437 Vaquero Way, Nipomo, CA 93444-6657.
