Zoom is a video conferencing application which allows members with an internet connection along with a computer, laptop, tablet, or smart phone to share screens and talk to each other. Think of it as a telephone conference call with pictures!
ARARA has bought a license to use Zoom. You don't need to buy software to participate, just
join the meeting that ARARA hosts. Also, if you and a spouse, or another family member, will share the same device to view the presentation you don't need to both register. Just one of you registering will reserve your right to participate and leave spaces for others who may want to join.
As
long as you have a screen and speakers you will be able to join, view,
and hear the presentation. (Basically if you can watch a youtube video,
you can take part in Zoom.) If you have a camera and microphone built
into your device your picture will show up in the list of attendees and
you will be able to ask questions. But the camera and microphone aren't
necessary to enjoy this event. If you just have a phone you can call in
and hear the presentation but won't be able to see the slides.
So how does this all work?
